BAINBRIDGE – Come rain or shine, individual landowners and landowner coalitions representing nine surrounding counties plan to rally from noon and 4 p.m. at the General Clinton Park, Bainbridge, on Sunday, Aug. 23 in a show of unity for developing the region’s abundant natural gas reserves.

The theme of the event is, “Our Land -Our Rights - Our Future.” The mission of the organizing group, called the Joint Landowner Coalition (JLC), is “to foster, promote, advance and protect the common interest of the people as it pertains to natural gas development through education and best environmental practices.”

According to organizers, several JLC members and local leaders are invited to address the delay of the gas drilling permits due to the DEC's continued postponement of updated regulations. Others will speak on current developments in Pennsylvania where permits are being issued.
