Otselic mother looking for help in hit and run incident
SOUTH OTSELIC – The mother of a 13-year-old boy who was struck by an elderly woman driving a dark blue car is seeking the public’s help in apprehending the suspect.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the hit and run incident that took place at about 10:28 a.m., Friday along County Route 23 in the Town of South Otselic.
The 13 year old youth, Brandon Thornton, was riding his bicycle with his brother when a vehicle, described as “a smaller, dark blue car,” stuck the boy as it attempted to pass the two as they traveled with traffic on the route’s shoulder.
Thornton was sent rolling over the vehicle’s windshield and the suspect car may have suffered damage to its front grill area as a result of hitting the bike or damage to its hood, the boy’s mother, Kelly Moyer, reported Monday.
