CINCINNATUS – Sunday afternoon, a fire that began in the engine of a golf cart expanded to engulf several rooms at the Knickerbocker Golf Course in Cincinnatus.

Firefighters responded at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 5471 Telephone Rd. in the Town of Cincinnatus after a 911 caller reported that the rear of golf course’s main building was on fire.

Clubhouse Manager Todd Knickerbocker said Wednesday the fire started in one of the golf cart’s engines after it was parked in the cart shed.
