GREENE – Greene picked up the scoring pace in the second half tacking on four goals to blank Sidney on Friday.
Alex Driscoll scored in the 25th minute of the second half, and Jake Shearer tallied three minutes later raising the lead to five goals.
“We started slow, but we were able to get it going in the second half,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We were able to control the possession, and I think our experience was a big factor.”
Mikki Brown, Chad Noelle, Nate Patrick, and Ryan Ludwig added goals for Greene, who host Delhi on Wednesday.

SHERBURNE – Ilion scored three times in the second half to break away from the Marauders and win the consolation game of the S-E Tournament Saturday afternoon.
Nathan Layman had two goals for Ilion in a tightly-matched contest. “We played a good, consistent game, and all three goals were fantastic,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “Two were from outside the 18-yard line, and one was set up on a counter after we had pushed up our offense.”
Friday, V-V-S had two second-half goals to break a tie game and advance to the finals. Carter Cole tallied for S-E, his first varsity goal, getting a pass from Eric Muth.
Eric Booth had two goals for V-V-S, who beat Oneida in the championship game.

DELHI – Nick Meehan had two goals for Delhi, who scored three times in the second half to pull away from the Storm on Friday.
“We played a defensive game, and we lost it, but we earned respect,” said UV coach Ryan Houck.
Mike Anson made 17 saves in goal for the Storm (0-2).

OXFORD – After B-G forced overtime scoring with two seconds left in regulation, the Blackhawks finally put the Bobcats away when Justin Schray scored in the second sudden-victory overtime.
Oxford, in its opening game of the season, took a 4-3 lead with one minute left on Kyle Ferrington’s goal. “We thought the game was pretty much wrapped up, but to B-G’s credit, they didn’t let up and they kept coming back,” said Oxford coach Matt Dorman.
Josh Norris scored his third goal of the game following a scramble after a cornerkick just before the final buzzer.
Oxford’s Taylor Bates had two first-half goals giving his team the early advance. Norris cut the lead in half with his first goal, and converted a penalty kick later in the half to knot the game up.
Cory Seiler added Oxford’s goal to make it 3-2 before Sam Kane tied it for B-G.
“I was glad we had enough heart to pull this game out,” Dorman said. “We have a few things to work on, but it was a good start to the season, and I hope we can keep this going.”

NORWICH – Norwich ran into a deep and talented Maine-Endwell team Friday night.
The Spartans won all but two events to roll past the Tornado ladies.
Norwich senior Makenzie Williams was a winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.20), while Kaitlyn Darling gave Norwich a victory in the diving competition. (110.40).
