GOP Primaries today in Chenango

CHENANGO – Republican voters in a few municipalities will head to the polls today to vote in GOP primaries to decide who will be on the ballot in the November election. The polls will be open until 9 p.m.
Among the races being decided today are:
• City of Norwich: Robert M. Jeffrey and Daniel J. Palmer both seek the Republican ballot position for Ward 6 Alderman.
• Town of Coventry: Three positions will be on today’s ballot. John M. Phelan Sr. opposes incumbent Janice A. O'Shea for town supervisor; two Republican spots on the town council are sought by Robert E. Boudreau, George Broeg, John B. Sanford and Phyllis S. Lerwick; and the highway superintendent race is between GOP candidates Gary J. Petroski and Richard M. Granger Jr.
• Town of Guilford: Bernard VanDerWeert, David P. Daniels and Joan M. Kline seek two GOP slots for town justice.
• Town of Sherburne: John R. Powell, James W. Peptis and John M. Staley are running for town justice.
