Couple charged in love triangle with underage girl
NORWICH – A Town of Norwich couple was arrested in early September after allegedly being involved in a ménage à trois with an underage teen.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday it had charged Michael A. Demueth, 33, of Norwich, and his live-in girl friend, 21-year-old Amanda L. Strozier, with a number of sex crimes over allegations that they had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Demueth was indicted Wednesday by the Chenango County grand jury on three counts of third degree rape, an E class felony, after allegedly having sexual intercourse with the teenager on three different occasions between March and April of 2008, in the Town of Oxford, along Bradley Hill Road. He was also charged with misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.
Strozier was charged with third degree sexual abuse, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child for her role in the alleged crimes.
Strozier, arrested Sept. 3, was arraigned in Town of Guilford Court and released on her own recognizance.
Demueth was arrested Aug. 29 and appeared in Town of Preston Court. He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail.
