City seeking sidewalk replacement requests

NORWICH – City homeowners wanting new sidewalks can add their names to next year’s replacement program now.
Those interested can contact Norwich Development Specialist Todd Dreyer.
Last year program sidewalks cost homeowners $20 per linear foot, said Dreyer. The repayment period is typically three years.
The city is pursuing grant money for the program in 2010. “That could reduce the price for next year,” Dreyer added.
The city receives about 40 sidewalks requests each year. The Department of Public Works usually completes them all. This year it did about 30.
Dreyer can be reached at 334-1229.
