Chenango County American Legion prepares for Commander visit

McDONOUGH – Chenango County American Legion Commander, Henry A. Burnor, Post 1478 McDonough, announces the annual visitation of the Department of New York American Legion Commander, William R. Kearsing, on Monday, Oct. 5.
Accompanying the Commander will be Department Auxiliary President Karyn Porempski, Department Commander of the Sons of the American Legion David Bishop and acting 6th District Commander, Bruce Whitney.
At 11 a.m. the group will visit the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford for a guided tour. Following visits with the staff and residents of the home, they will travel with a motorcycle escort provided by the Warren E. Eaton Post 189 American Legion Riders to The Evening Sun. There we will view the operations of the our local newspaper.
At 6 p.m. a formal dinner will be held at Post 189 in Norwich. All Legion Family members are welcome to attend all or part of the visitation. For reservations call 843-7742.
