Oxford 2, Unadilla Valley 1

NEW BERLIN – Oxford won for the fourth time this season edging Unadilla Valley Tuesday in a MAC divisional matchup.

Oxford’s Teresa Morrison had the only goal of the first half getting a crossing pass from Ginny Burdick at the 9:33 mark.

Julie Heggie scored unassisted for the Blackhawks (4-5) 17:02 into the second half to create a two-goal bulge.

“It was another tough loss,” said UV coach Chris Bieniek. “We have good ball movement, good crosses, and we have outshot more than half the teams we have lost to. We just cannot finish.”

UV’s Kara Collins scored unassisted with 1:30 left in the game to break up the shutout.

“It was a rainy, sloppy night all around,” said Norwich coach Jeremy Bolton. “Wyatt had more speed than anyone we had on defense, and she was able to break through and convert her chances. “I thought we had just as many opportunities as they did, we just didn’t finish.”
