CANASTOTA – Five different Sherburne-Earlville players found the net on Monday against Canastota, and the Marauders were able to stretch their winning streak to three games.
The win nudged S-E to one victory from evening its Center State Conference league mark. Overall S-E is 4-8-1, but 4-5-1 in CSC play.
Eric Muth, Alec Shedden, Kerry VanAlthuis, Oria Bays, and Brian Palmer were all credited with goals in the win.

Norwich’s David Layman had 10 saves, and came out of the goal in the second half to score Norwich’s lone tally getting an assist from Jason Woodard.

JOHNSON CITY – Norwich set the stage for a top-two finish at next week’s sectional tennis tournament blanking Johnson City last week.
It was the seventh win for the Tornado netters, who improved by one victory over last year, and finished with a 7-4 overall record.
“I think we still have unfinished business at sectionals,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “We feel we’re one of the top three teams in the section, and I hope we can prove that we are next week.”
Bryn Loomis and Sophie Stewart will play doubles for Norwich at sectionals as will Emily Stewart and Katie Orioli. Reva Seager and Jessica Lerner are entered as singles players.
The Section IV, Class B Tournament is slated Thursday, Oct. 15 at Owego High School

The Marauders, buoyed by their first win of the season last weekend, threatened the New York Mills cage throughout the second half finishing with seven shots and 10 penalty corners.
“We play our best overthe second 15 minutes of the second half,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “We had some opportunities and some near-misses. It wasn’t like we were on our heels the whole game.”
