Rogers history highlighted in Thursday program
NORWICH – On Thursday, the Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) will present “The History of Rogers Environmental Education Center,” a presentation by former Rogers naturalist/intern Brad Baldwin. The one hour program will include both visual and oratory on the Rogers Center from its beginnings to present day, including the part the Civilian Conservation Corps played in the Center’s development.
Baldwin’s interest in the topic began when he served as an intern at Rogers Environmental Education Center in the spring of 1992, and he has been a friend and volunteer at the Center since then. He graduated from SUNY Morrisville in Natural Resources Conservation Fish and Wildlife major in 1991. Baldwin was the Outdoor Education Director and Naturalist at Bowman Lake State Park in Oxford, NY for four summers and has also developed a program on the History of Bowman Lake.
The evening, held at the CCHS Museum at 45 Rexford Street, begins at 7 p.m. with the regular monthly membership meeting, followed by the program at 7:30. The public is welcome to both the Historical Society’s meeting and the program. Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated. For more information call the CCHS Museum at 334-9227.
