Foote to captain OCC

SYRACUSE – Onondaga Community College has announced its 2009-2010 Men’s Basketball roster.  The Lazers return eight players, seven of them on the perimeter, from last year’s 14-16 squad which reached the Mid-State Athletic Conference semifinals and the National Junior College Athletic Association Region III quarterfinals.  Onondaga will be looking to extend its strings of 9 consecutive post-season berths and 8 consecutive appearances in the regional tournament.  Those marks are the longest active streaks of any Mid-State Conference school.
Co-captain point guards Nate Foote (5-foot-8, Norwich) and Josh Kennedy (Chittenango) will head an experienced group of guards.  Foote played in 27 games in 2008-09, averaging 1.4 points and 1.6 assists per game, while Kennedy missed the entire 2008-09 campaign while recovering from a knee injury.
Also returning is Unadilla Valley graduate, Raffi Perry, an all-state selection in high school. Perry will see his first collegiate action this season after redshirting a year ago.
