25th Annual free Thanksgiving dinner planned in Oxford

OXFORD – The Oxford and McDonough Communities are invited to the 25th annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 26, served from noon to 1 p.m.

Since 1984, the Church Women United (CWU) of Oxford and St. Joseph’s Church have sponsored their Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 3 Scott St. This event invites all persons, from the communities of Oxford and McDonough, in need of fellowship on this family day of giving thanks.

The all home-made dinner will be: sliced roast turkey, mashed potatoes, mashed squash, turkey gravy, bread stuffing, assorted quick breads and rolls, corn, coleslaw, and cranberry sauce. For dessert, there will be assorted pies and you can be sure that pumpkin and apple will be among them.
