Sherburne continues Thanksgiving feast for the public

SHERBURNE – Continuing a tradition begun more than two decades ago, the Sherburne Lions Club and community volunteers will carve up the turkey and spread out the trimmings and the pies for a free Thanksgiving Day feast for the public.
The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, at the United Methodist Church on Chapel Street in Sherburne. Transportation to the event and also deliveries for those who are not able to make it to the church will also be arranged.
The Lions Club started the annual Thanksgiving dinner in 1986 in an attempt to help those who were alone or in need during the holiday season.
Anyone interested in attending the event, in need of transportation or who would like to request a food delivery should call 674-9558 to make arrangements. Requests for deliveries are already being arranged. Lions Club members have said the earlier the calls are made, the easier it is to arrange transportation on the day of the event.
