DERUYTER – G-MU avenged a loss to OV this past Tuesday winning the consolation game of the DeRuyter Tournament Saturday afternoon.
G-MU, unlike the first meeting, trailed at the start before gaining the lead in the second quarter and leading the rest of the way. “We haven’t shot the ball well in any game, and it continued in this game,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “We were able to make a run at them in the fourth quarter, but they controlled play most of the second half.”
Andrew Delmar had a career-high 19 points to lead G-MU (1-2), while Cory Townsend added 14.
Chris Neal scored 16 and Jeff Pittsley 13 for OV (1-2).
In Friday’s opening games, G-MU fell to the Syracuse Institute of Technology, 56-36. OV lost to host DeRuyter, 67-26.

In the season-opening win over Little Falls, Don Philhower’s 607 series paced the Marauders, who racked up a 2,852-pin total.
Versus WCV, Philhower used a 278 game to post a match-best 697 series.
