State grant for Raymond received
GREENE – On Monday, the Chenango County Board of Supervisors officially accepted a $750,000 state economic development grant that would assist the Raymond Corporation with its consolidation plans.
Poor economic conditions have forced Chenango County’s largest private employer to close its Brantford, Ontario plant and consolidate the manufacturing process for one of its lift truck lines.
Raymond will receive a total of $3 million in state funds between a $2.25 million grant from ESD and a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant through the New York State Office of Community Renewal.
A portion of the funds have been earmarked for training.
