S-E rebounds to defeat UV in tourney consolation game

NEW BERLIN – Sherburne-Earlville rushed out to a 19-point lead at the half, and cruised to victory in the consolation game of the UV Tournament.

Bridget Irwin and Kristi Vibbard each downed 11 points by halftime as the lead stood at 35-16. “They don’t have a lot of size, but they’re fast and have good shooters,” said UV coach Brandi Backus. “We couldn’t stop them from getting to the basket.”

Caitlynn Adams led S-E (7-2) with 15 points, Vibbard scored 12, and Irwin 11.

Jordan Andersen had 17 for UV.
