Couple pleads guilty in burglary case; DA seeks third suspect

NORWICH – A married couple appeared in Chenango County Court Monday to plead guilty to charges related to a burglary they committed together.

Jeanna Sabine-Davis pleaded guilty to third degree burglary, a felony, and was placed on one year of interim probation. At the end of that time, she would be eligible to be sentenced on a misdemeanor charge as long as she cooperates with probation and avoids any violation of her terms, which include drug screening and random home searches.

Brandon M. Davis appeared after his wife’s guilty plea and entered one of his own. He pleaded guilty to attempted burglary, a felony, and was sentenced to one year at the Chenango County Correctional Facility.

Jeanna told the court she drove Brandon and another unnamed suspect who has not yet been charged in the case to an Otselic Valley residence Aug. 7 to break in the home.

“I drove them there and dropped them off,” she said in her admission.

“You understood that’s what they were there to do?” asked Public Defender Alan Gordon in satisfying the plea arrangement.
