Police charge corrections officer in four-car DWI accident

NORWICH – On Sunday, the Norwich Police arrested a corrections officer for being under the influence of alcohol after he lost control of his pick-up and careened into a group of parked vehicles as their owners attended a Super Bowl party at a residence on Plymouth Street.

Police charged 34-year-old Brian J. Loomis of Norwich with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Police also confirmed that Loomis is a corrections officer for the New York State Department of Corrections at the Marcy Correctional Facility in Oneida County.
