COLUMBUS – Appointing someone to fill in as interim county supervisor from now until the fall is proving difficult for the Town of Columbus Council, as no potential candidates have been named.

Town Clerk Brenda Weidman said two individuals were consulted, but both declined.

Former Councilman Bruce Vermeulen assumed his new role as deputy supervisor at a meeting of the council last week.
