Bainbridge stages The Music Man this weekend

BAINBRIDGE – Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” which comes to the Town Hall Theatre March 19, 20, 21, brings with it a bit of nostalgia, literally to “beat the band.”
Centered around the story of Professor Harold Hill and his efforts to hoodwink a sleepy 1912 Iowa town on the pretense of putting together a boys band, “The Music Man” brings music not only to their ears, but puts it in their hearts as well.
Ken Wilber plays traveling salesman Hill, the music “Professor” who tries to outsmart piano teacher Marian, Amanda Perrino, while collecting her brother, Winthrop, Connor Kiss, for the boys band he is forming.
A tribute to the time the Town Hall Theatre was built “The Music Man” is a fitting show to help celebrate the theatre’s centennial with such classic songs as “76 Trombones,” “My White Knight,” “Gary, Indiana,” “Goodnight, My Someone,” “Til There Was You,” “Wells Fargo Wagon,” “Lida Rose/GoodNight Ladies,” “Trouble,” and “Shipoopi.”
Join the Out of the Woodwork Players Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. or for the Sunday, March 21 matinee at 2 p.m. for a centennial celebration featuring marches, ragtime, soft show, ballads, barbershop tunes and the best memories of a bygone era.
