OXFORD – The Oxford Academy Central School District’s board of education has appointed Janet Laytham to fill the high school principal position on an interim basis in the wake of administrator Christine Pierce’s resignation.

Laytham, who has served as the district’s coordinator of student learning for the past four years, will assume her new responsibilities on April 5.

“I’m really excited about (taking on the role),” said Laytham, who explained that she had already begun to work closely with Pierce to ensure a “smooth transition” for the building’s students and staff.
