NORWICH – Opportunities for Chenango (OFC) Board of Directors President Christopher Calhoun has announced the appointment of Wayne Viera, formerly the manager of the agency’s housing services, as executive director.

Viera, who has been with OFC for over 12 years, replaces Interim Executive Director Norma Smith, who had filled the position since former Director Craig Cashman stepped down in October of 2009.

“On behalf of the board of directors and our entire agency, we express our sincerest gratitude to Norma Smith, our human resources director, for assuming the duties as interim executive director over the past 6 months,” said Calhoun. “Her efforts have been tireless in assuring continuity in management duties during the transition process. Her dedication to this agency and the community we serve has been highly commendable and very much appreciated.”
