UV, G-MU host theater performances this weekend
NEW BERLIN – This weekend two area schools will be inviting the local community to see the high school students put on their annual play.
• The Unadilla Valley High School will be performing “Mission: Possible” Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m., in the school’s auditorium.
The comedy is a humorous twist of spy action and villainous plans of world domination. Agent 98.6, James Blond, must work with a strange group of characters in saving the world from the evil arch-villain Silverthumb. There’s just one problem – the self destructing message explaining his instructions malfunctions and destroys itself before he can hear the whole plan.
Admission is $5, for adults, students (K-12) get in for $3 and children under 5 are free. Proceeds go to paying the cost of the senior trip in June.
• Gilbertsville Mt.-Upton will be performing the original “Peter Pan” at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, in the school’s auditorium. The play is the classic tale of Neverland, the children’s realm where no one grows old and adventure awaits.
The play has about 40 cast members participating and another 10 student stage hands. Admission is free with a good will donation.
