WHITNEY POINT – All 10 players on the Greene roster Thursday afternoon had an RBI, and the Trojans pulled away with nine runs in the seventh inning.
Trailing the Golden Eagles 1-0 entering the third inning, Nic Puglisi had a two-out, two-run triple for Greene, and Scott Gorton followed that with an RBI triple to score Puglisi and give Greene the lead for keeps
Matt Jones pitched a complete-game victory striking out 13 and allowing seven hits. “After a rough first inning, (Matt) really was dominant up until the seventh inning,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “In the seventh, he still had good stuff, we just didn’t play as well behind him.”
Scott Gorton went 3-for-5 and Brendan Kinne went 3-for-3. Alex Kenyon had four runs scored walking once and getting hit by a pitch three times.
