Lathrop earns America East weekly honor

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of New Hampshire women's outdoor track and field senior, Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne-Earlville H.S., 2006), was named America East Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 18, the conference announced Tuesday, April 20.
Lathrop remained dominant in the hammer throw claiming her third straight title in the event at the Larry Ellis Invitational on April 17. Lathrop won the hammer throw with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 55.51 meters, the best throw in the conference this season and a new UNH school record. Lathrop’s throw ranks 58th in the nation this year, who earns her third consecutive weekly honor. Lathrop was also ninth in the discus at 35.37 meters.
UNH has now won all five Field Performer of the Week awards on the season, as Lathrop's classmate, Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.), earned the first two for weeks ending March 23 and 30. Overall, the Wildcats have earned 10 of the 20 weekly conference awards during the outdoor season, the most by any team.
