Texas based company offers services for oil and natural gas industry

NORWICH – While the debate over natural gas drilling in Chenango County wages on, Right of Way Land Servicing, a provider of energy related services for the oil and gas industry, has found a thriving local market for its mapping, leasing and seismic permitting, and testing services.

The Fort Hood, Texas-based company is currently working on projects with Green World Geophysical and Norse Energy, utilizing the “most technologically advanced form of seismic mapping available,” as it concerns oil and natural gas reserves, according to Bill Sedwick, Right of Way Land Servicing supervisor.

“We’re using cutting edge technology, a totally wireless system which is new to the industry and was developed by Right of Way and Green World,” stated Sedwick, who added the new system is “more environmentally-friendly than conventional seismic testing.”

The technology, utilizing wireless ground phones, is similar to a sonogram in that an energy source is sent underground which reflects off, and gives a reading of, formations below the surface.
