Johnson records ace at C.C.C.

PLYMOUTH – Jim Johnson never saw his first hole-in-one. This past Sunday morning at Canasawacta Country Club, he followed the ball flight all the way.
Johnson of Gilbertsville, used a pitching wedge to ace the 139-yard second hole at C.C.C. playing in the Sunday Comics group. Johnson was playing with Doug Wilson and Rick Ferris. “There’s always some luck involved with a hole-in-one,” Johnson said. “My (golf) ball was pulled out first to play in the first threesome. Who knows what would have happened if I had to wait? It was a good shot, but the timing could have changed everything.”
Johnson’s first career ace came at Afton Golf Club several years ago. He finished his round with a season-low score of 78.
The ace is the first reported from C.C.C. this season.
