Norse pipeline permitted under state Route 23
NORWICH – A New York State Department Of Transportation permit that would enable contractors for Norse Energy to bore underneath state Route 23 in Plymouth has been approved.
The DOT last week issued a use and occupancy permit to the Norwegian energy company that clears the remaining regulatory hurdles and allows completion of another section of its 11-mile pipeline in Madison and Chenango counties. The work is expected to be finished by the end of this month.
The Route 23 bore would enable gas to flow from two wells in Preston, which have been awaiting pipeline since December.
