New gift shop to open downtown
NORWICH – Longtime Chenango County resident Susan Wood said for most of her adult life, she’s dreamed of opening her own gift shop and now that dream is about to come true.
Thymely Treasures, an “eclectic collection of gifts and home decor,” will officially open on July 10, said Wood, who, due to the personal adversity she faced in the last year, “really felt the need to pursue my dream.”
Located on the corner of South Broad and East Main Streets in the former E-Sell-It location, Thymely Treasures will offer a “large variety of home decor and gift items appealing to people with a variety of tastes,” according to Wood, whose goal is “to be successful and become a permanent fixture downtown.”
Patrons will find a multitude of eclectic styles in the newly remodeled store including country, Victorian, contemporary and primitive, and Wood said a variety of quality items will be affordably priced under $10.
Thymely Treasures will also cater to “those with more expensive tastes” and will offer complimentary gift basket and decorating services, commented Wood, who added having “a broad base of customer appeal is very important to me.”
“I’m very excited and it’s a lot of work, but things have been coming together very nicely,” stated Wood.
Thymely Treasures, 1 South Broad St., will open on July 10 and hold its grand opening in August featuring door prizes, giveaways, refreshments and samples of many of the gourmet food items which will be available for purchase in the shop. Store hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday except Thursdays, when the shop will remain open until 8 p.m. For more information call 336-1886.
