Norwich Middle School students give back

Students in Gale Hamstra’s Home and Career Skills class at Norwich Middle School recently took part in a community service project in which they made stuffed toys, bags, pouches, pillows and similar items for others. This year, the 7th graders voted to present over 150 pieces to Chief Tracy Chawgo of the Norwich Fire Department. These items will be given to children who are involved in emergency situations as a gesture of goodwill by Chawgo’s department. “Students complete this project while learning the value of doing for others by providing these gifts,” Hamstra said.
