New Berlin Library welcomes author Wednesday
NEW BERLIN – The New Berlin Library will welcome first-time author Lis Clark to a community meeting Wednesday night to discuss her new book “$50 in My Pocket, I’m Off to See America.”
Starting at 7 tomorrow night, Clark will hold a discussion and demonstration about the book, which is a historical memoir of her ancestors’ journey to America from Denmark. The book is already on sale on Amazon.com and Clark will be attending an event at Ellis Island later in the summer which will feature her work.
Her family eventually moved north from New York City and settled in the Chatham area to become upstate farmers. New Berlin Library Director Darlene LaBrie said Clark’s affinity for the region is what led her to visit a number of upstate libraries.
Attendees will be offered complimentary refreshments in the library’s Community Room.
Clark will bring with her a collection of slides and her book will be on sale at the event.
