All About Eve ready for debut performance

NORWICH – Local musical trio All About Eve will take the stage for the first time tonight as the Cafe Connection debuts a series of weekly performances to take place in the rear courtyard of the local eatery.
Featuring the talents of keyboardist Mike O’Connor, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame percussionist Bob Tousignant, and vocalist Leslie Pasco, the recently-formed ensemble will debut its unique blend of standard and classic soul and rhythm and blues, and Pasco is excited.
“This is something new for me and something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said the singer, who recently returned to the area from Massachusetts. “This is the stuff I love to sing and it just so happens it’s the stuff Mike and Bob like to play.”
O’Connor and Tousignant, neither a stranger to the classic sounds of blues and soul, have both been involved in the local music scene for years, and Cafe Connection owner Geri Barnes said she considered the pair a perfect match for Pasco.
“It’s going to be fun to showcase Leslie along with musicians like Mike and Bob,” she added. “We’re really excited to have them play.”
A musical staple in the area since 1975, O’Connor said he believed people will be surprised by Pasco’s powerful voice.
“She’s got a nice blues voice and she has an edge to her,” he commented. “Leslie is extremely entertaining and outgoing, she has a wide range of tastes.”
An avid music fan and singer since she was a child, Pasco said All About Eve have “been working really hard at it,” and added “we’ve all been doing this so long that it came together rather quickly.”
As a long-time supporter of local music, Barnes said featuring area talent in the rear courtyard was a no-brainer.
“It’s a beautiful spot back there for live music and I think it’s going to be wonderful,” stated Barnes. “We like to feature local musicians and I’m amazed at the amount of local talent we have here. We have an enormous amount of talent in our area.”
In addition to the Friday performances, Barnes also reported the Cafe Connection will be featuring new artwork by photographer Vic Rosenburg, a Plymouth resident during the summer months.
For the next two weeks patrons of the downtown cafe will enjoy Rosenburg’s photography, which features snapshots of Chenango County, the Adirondacks, Greece and Turkey.
All About Eve will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight in the rear courtyard, weather permitting, of the Cafe Connection, 28 South Broad Street. In the event of inclement weather the group will perform inside. For more information call 334-2233.
