Antiques sale, flea market in Smithville this weekend
SMITHVILLE FLATS – An Antique Sale and Flea Market will take place in Smithville Flats. The First Presbyterian Church is sponsoring the event from 9 to 5, on Saturday, July 10 at the building and grounds of the Smithville Community Center.
The Genegantslet Fire Company will host a traditional Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 10 at the fire station.
At 9 a.m. the Antiques Sale and Flea Market will commence at the Community Center. Antiques and Flea Market stuff, plus jewelry, wreaths, handmade purses, painted signs and benches, organic growing products, tin signs, fishing equiptment, vintage books and papers, primitive home decor and signs, speciality food mixes, crafts, paintings, and more.
From 10 til noon, Ben Rounds will play acustic guitar and his own compositions, some from his upcoming record. At noon a local expert on antiques will hold an antique appraisal. That’s like the TV Antiques Road Show program. Bring your own old treasure over and, for a mere $3, you can learn about it and its value. Then at 2 until 4, My New Obsession will play their classic rock music.
After the firemen’s Pancake Breakfast there will be a chicken barbecue, the Junior Grange will sell hot dogs, baked beans, salads, popcorn and chips. Ice cream will be sold and the Smithville Historical Society will sell Strawberry Shortcakes with homemade biscuits.
Call 656-8521 or 656-4975 for more information.
