Health Education offered in East Park

NORWICH – Chenango County health officials – including representatives from the Chenango County Health Department, the Chenango County Area Agency on Aging and the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Eat Smart New York program – met with staff from the Regional Office of the New York State Health Department in East Park on Wednesday to discuss a number of health-related topics, offer area residents a variety of information concerning health and healthy living, and answer any questions they may have.

Some of the issues addressed included sun safety, cancer screening, cervical cancer and Lyme disease prevention, lead poisoning, nutrition, rabies prevention, safe outdoor cooking, proper dental care and the prevention of Hepatitis A, B and C.

Besides the weekly presentation, adjacent to the Farmers Market in East Park, the local health officials can be found at Roots and Wings, Daily Bread, the Afton Fair and next week’s Chenango County Fair.
