Colorscape welcomes Chenango Bounty

NORWICH – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival is pleased to announce the participation of Central New York (CNY) Bounty at this year’s 16th Annual Colorscape in downtown Norwich, Sept. 11 and 12.
“We are very happy to have CNY Bounty,” said Colorscape Executive Director Peggy Finnegan. “They will set up in East Park on Sunday, Sept.12, selling locally-grown fresh produce from area farms.”
CNY Bounty aspires to provide easy access of local, fresh food to all Central New York consumers.  Headquartered in Morrisville, New York, CNY Bounty’s territory embraces mostly small and medium-sized farms – dictated in part by the physical landscape.
“We support local farmers and producers by creating new markets for locally-produced foods, to strengthen the area’s economy and provide healthy food to all citizens of Central New York in an environmentally responsible way,” said Josie Maroney, who worked with Finnegan to bring CNY Bounty to Colorscape.
CNY will be bring to Colorscape fresh produce as well as shelf-stable items like peanut butter, honey, pasta, cookie mix, maple syrup, and other products.
CNY Bounty operates year-round and currently works with more than 90 farmers and producers. All processed and prepared products contain at least 25 percent locally grown ingredients, except where products are not grown in the region, such as coffee and cacao.
Each week, Bounty staff coordinates current product availability with farmers and producers and then uploads onto their website the week’s products and prices, along with photos and descriptions. Online, at www.cnybounty.com, between Friday at noon and Monday at noon, you simply place your order.
CNY Bounty staff collect from participating farms on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, drive the products to the distribution center, and then distribute to individual orders on every Wednesday or Thursday afternoon – delivered directly to customers’ doorsteps or to nearby pick-up sites, strategically located throughout the area.
“Colorscape has always been about community – bringing the community together and supporting one another. CNY Bounty fits perfectly with that philosophy,” said Finnegan.
Located on the greens of East and West Parks in the city of Norwich, Colorscape features over 90 juried artists and crafters selling their wares in an interactive atmosphere that includes artist demonstrations, literary and arts activities for all ages, student art exhibits, a competitive poetry slam and the finest in creative food.
