Greene 6, Walton 0
GREENE – Greene’s Nate Patrick broke the ice for Greene’s offense, and the Trojans used that momentum to cruise past Walton in Wednesday’s game.
“Putting the ball in the net six times, that’s a great way to start the season,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We had a really slow start and couldn’t get things going. Nate’s goal seemed to fire the boys up.”
Patrick beat a defender in a one-on-one situation scoring the opening goal at 24:13. Alex Driscoll, last year’s leading scorer for Greene, had a hat trick in his opening game. Brett Hennessy and Alex Leone also scored for the Trojans.
“It’s no secret we are built around Driscoll and Dietrich (Corey),” Tallman said. “It was nice to see our scoring and assists spread around. Other kids had opportunities.”
Greene is at Delhi next Wednesday.
