Visit the Historical Societies at the 34th Annual Antiques Show
NORWICH – The Chenango County Historical Society’s 34th annual fall Antiques Show is coming to the Chenango County Fairgrounds –for one day only- Sunday, Sept. 5. This is one of New York’s most popular and enduring antiques shows. The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) show committee, led by Chairperson Howard Fogel and Tom Knapp, Co-Chairperson, have been working for months to present a show full of quality dealers, and the public’s anticipation and excitement is sure to be growing! Approximately sixty varied vendors have been selected who will be offering a terrific assortment that’s sure to please. At past shows there have been antique magazines and books, linens, toys, glassware, porcelains, jewelry, vintage clothing, marbles, woodworking tools, collectibles, currency, mirrors, paintings, furniture and much more. Come early for best choices.
As your appetite grows from antiquing, there’s no need to leave the fairgrounds. There will be food sold at the Grange booth in Floral Hall. CCHS will also have a concession featuring baked goods and Gilligan’s Ice Cream (back by popular demand).
The Historical Societies of Oxford and Guilford will also have display spaces in the building next to the Chenango County Historical Society. The Oxford Historical Society will have photos, books and information about Oxford’s past and will try to help with questions. They will also have Oxford souvenirs for sale including the ever popular village afghans.
If you love antiques and history, don’t miss this Antiques Show at the Norwich Fairgrounds, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine. Once again, they’re offering free antique appraisals. Sponsored by: NBT Bank, The Evening Sun, Pennysaver, and Visions Federal Credit Union. For information call, 334-9227 or 627-6457. Email: H.B.Fogel@att.net. Admission is still only $4, so come and support CCHS and take home some pieces of the past.
