COPES CORNERS – G-MU’s early offense against Morris Wednesday was enough to secure the Raiders’ third win of the season.
Just 1:43 into the game, Greg Delaney’s cornerkick was headed in by DeMario Reed. That goal stood up the rest of the way. “I think we had some tired legs and were a little sluggish in the first half after that initial push up the field,” said G-MU coach Mark Luettger. “I thought we picked up the energy in the second half.”
Andrew Delmar made four saves for the Raiders (3-0-2), and was never seriously threatened with on-goal shots.

Oxford 3, Unadilla Valley 2
NEW BERLIN – Oxford built a two-goal lead at halftime, and hung on for the win against a surging Unadilla Valley club Wednesday.
Jake Carr scored off a cornerkick from Justin Schray to open the Oxford scoring, and Schray upped the margin to two goals before the Storm’s Garrett Mackey cut the lead in half.
Evan Landau had what proved the winning goal taking a rebounded shot from Schray and tucking the ball away giving the Blackhawks (3-0) a two-goal comfort zone.
Unadilla Valley held a 27-19 edge in shots and controlled play much of the second half. The lone tally of the final 40 minutes, though, came from the Storm’s Brett Smith, his fourth of the season. “At times, I could count nine red (Oxford) shirts and their goalie down inside the 18,” said UV coach Ryan Houck. “The congestion in front of the goal at the end of the game made it very difficult to get the equalizer.”
