GREENE – Brandee Schoonmaker and Jahna Driscoll had two goals apiece for the Trojans, who ran their record to 4-0 this season – all shutout wins.
The Trojans initiated the scoring less than a minute into the game. After intercepting a Hancock pass off the initial hit of the game, Andrea Day took the ball down the right side, and crossed the ball to Schoonmaker for the first goal. Day set up Driscoll with her first goal making it a two-goal lead, and Day had her third straight assist off a penalty corner as Emily Conroe tipped the ball in from close range. Emily Gascon also had a goal for Greene, who host Walton Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.

OXFORD – Oxford upended 2009 MAC division champion Walton on Friday night for its first win of the season.
Lacey Barry scored on a penalty stroke, the lone tally of the game, and Kersten Towndrow made 13 saves for the shutout.

OXFORD – Devon Kaminsky scored two goals for the Warriors, who jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first half against Oxford Friday.
Teresa Morrison scored the Blackhawks’ lone tally.

CINCINNATUS – Cincinnatus’ Jake Stone scored unassisted 3:45 into the first overtime allowing the Red Lions to eke out a shutout win over the Vikings on Saturday afternoon.
Stone beat the OV keeper in a one-on-one situation for the game-winner. “Cincinnatus controlled much of the game, but we made the big defensive plays and stayed in the game,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “It’s disappointing to lose, but it’s encouraging to know we can play with the better teams in Section III.”
OV hosts Tyburn Academy today.

CHENANGO BRIDGE – Chenango Valley’s Kyle Moyer scored with about 10 minutes left in the first half off a pass from Kamaran Fisher, and Fisher scored unassisted midway through the second half in a win over Norwich Friday.
“It was probably the best we’ve played all year, and we had numerous opportunities to score,” said Norwich coach John McCumiskey. “Their goalie (Kevin Mack) made some nice saves, and Nate (Perry) kept us in the game with some nice saves, too. We jelled pretty well, we just had a couple of injuries that made it tough for us at the end.”
Perry finished with 14 saves.

Jake Hoag and Sean Cope had one goal and one assist apiece to lead CV-S.

NORWICH – Despite winning just two events, Norwich hung close with Chenango Valley in Friday night’s meet.
Erin Gawronski posted a season-best time in winning the 500-yard freestyle in 5:55.47, and the 200-yard freestyle relay of Krissy Stroh, Shannon Curley, Ravyn Benedict, and Rachael Zieno won in 1:56.95. Stephanie Todd also swam a personal-best time in the 500, said Norwich coach Amanda Downey.
“Once again they went out there and tried their hardest to get every point that they could, even if it was not the first-place finishes,” Downey said. “I am excited for our next meet in two weeks, and going against someone our own caliber.  Our focus until then will be fine tuning all of the little things that make or break a race.”

GREENE – Greene coach Mike Platta found some silver linings in what was lopsided loss to STAC powerhouse Union-Endicott Friday.
“U-E is a Class A school and we’re Class A. To win two events against a school like them is encouraging for our program,” Platta said. “The statistic don’t show it, but we had our two best times in the 200- and 400-yard relays.”
Jessica Brooks, Autumn Van Etten, Katelyn Shear, and Emily Bertram comprised the 200 relay team, Platta said. Brooks picked up a win in the 200-yard individual medley, and Jenny Yeager was first in the 200-yard freestyle.
Greene is at Susquehanna Valley Tuesday.

NORWICH – What stacked up as Norwich’s toughest division battle to date turned into another shutout victory on Friday afternoon.
Norwich scorched the Indians winning every set in singles, while two of the three doubles matches went to three sets, and the other matchup was tight in each game.
Sisters Katie and Kristi Orioli outlasted Kira Thalacker and Amanda George, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in first doubles; Alyssa Stagliano and Emily Stewart edged Sarah Wieckhorst and Ashley Lohmeyer in second doubles, 7-6, 7-5; while Gina Mecceriello and Shaniqua Yaccarino were taken to three sets by Alanna Daws and Kayla Houle, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
Norwich is at Susquehanna Valley today.

S-E runs at V-V-S
VERNON – Erin Mahardy and Noah Huff led the S-E cross country to top individual finishes for the undermanned Marauders in Saturday’s invitational at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
Mahardy paced the girls timing 28:16, while Huff was 27th out of 91 runners timing 18:32. “This is the site of sectionals, so it was a huge meet for us,” said S-E coach Anne Geary. “For our first invitational, I was happy with the performances against AA schools.”
