Claus Evans to perform at Methodist benefit on Saturday
GREENE – The First United Methodist Church of Greene will host a benefit concert featuring singer/performer Claus Evans at 7 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place at the church, 32 South Chenango St. in Greene.
Evans, who has starred in numerous local productions including “Fiddler on the Roof,” will perform an eclectic mix of show tunes and spirituals.
“He’s a fantastic guy, has a beautiful voice and is a great performer,” said Reverend Amy Gregory of Evans, who lives in Greene and is a member of the congregation.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night. General admission tickets will be available at the door for $20 each. A selection of “decadent desserts” will be served at intermission, prepared by members of the congregation.
“People are pulling out their best recipes,” Gregory said.
According to the pastor, proceeds from the benefit concert will be used to fund the church’s outreach efforts.
