Oxford to hold two public meetings prior to capital project vote

OXFORD – The Oxford Academy and Central School district will hold two public forums to give residents the opportunity to learn more about the proposed $10.16 million phase two capital project before they vote on Nov. 18.

The first of the two meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 at the Oxford Middle School. The second is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in the high school’s Oxford Academy Performing Arts Auditorium.

The session will include a presentation highlighting the areas which will be addressed in the project, as well as a question and answer period. Members of the district’s administration and board of education will be on hand, as will consultants from the Bernier Carr Group.

The scope of the proposed $10,160,375 project includes $7,150,880 in improvements at the Oxford Middle School – to include reconstruction of existing classrooms and facilities, installation of equipment to enable wireless connectivity, elevation of the boiler room and conversion of the building’s steam heating system to hot water.
