GREENE – Greene rushed for 396 yards, and won its final game of the season Friday night to secure a sixth straight plus-.500 campaign.
Kurt Shear had 175 yards rushing and a touchdown. Shear added to his single-season school rushing record for the Trojans (5-4) finishing with 1,309. “Kurt is a heck of a player and we’re definitely going to miss him,” said Greene coach Tim Paske. “He’s a hard worker, and he put his time in.”
Kyle Stanton recovered a B-G fumble in the endzone on the opening drive of the game. After forcing a Bobcats’ punt, Greene used nine plays, the last a three-yard Shear TD jaunt upping the lead to 14-0.
Jeff Carlin dashed 34 yards to paydirt in the second before B-G put its first points on the board. Sophomore quarterback Corbin Palmer connected with Ryan Porter on a 58-yard TD score.
Tim Gell responded for Greene kicking a 23-yard field goal before halftime. Greene finished with just one turnover while accumulating 441 yards of offense. It held the B-G running game in check until the later stages of the game forcing B-G to pass the ball.
“The defense came out and played really well,” Paske said, whose club held the Bobcats to 17 yards rushing in the first half.
Keegan Cerwinski ran for a 45-yard touchdown and threw a 27-yard TD to Josh Brigham to pad the Trojans’ advantage in the second half.
B-G senior Gordie Shields returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the third, and Porter hit Danny Gormley on a 25-yard TD hookup in the fourth.
Bobcats senior Dakota Vandermark, held to 20 yards rushing through three quarters, finished with 61 yards on 14 carries to establish a new B-G single-season rushing record. Vandermark finishes with 1,339 yards, seven above the previous mark set by John Stevens in 2000.

Moravia 40, Oxford 6
MORAVIA – For the second straight season, Moravia ended Oxford’s season with a loss.
Dillon Langtry had a hand in all five Moravia touchdowns rushing for two scores, passing for two more, and returning the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown.
Langtry rushed for 137 yards scoring on a 49-yard run in the first, and capping the day’s scoring on a 24-yard caper. He threw TD passes of five and 29 yards to Nick Dwyer and Dylan Powers respectively, and he raised the lead to 24-6 in the third quarter with his 83-yard kickoff return.
“We knew across the board, they were a pretty good team,” said Oxford coach Mike Chrystie. “Their quarterback (Langtry) is a great athlete. Granted, we made him look better than he was missing a bunch of tackles. At least three of their touchdowns, we missed three tackles on each play. You can’t stay competitive missing that many tackles.”
Oxford was within 8-6 in the second quarter on quarterback John Wonka’s one-yard sneak. Wonka again led the Oxford offense with 86 yards rushing, but four fumbles and five total turnovers kept the Blackhawks (3-6) from maintaining consistency. “We moved the ball at times, but at critical times we coughed it up or had a bad snap,” Chrystie said. “They were just untimely, and we couldn’t maintain an offensive rhythm, especially in the second half.”
