Oxford holds first public forum Thursday

OXFORD – The Oxford Academy and Central School district will hold a public information session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Oxford Middle School to allow residents the opportunity to learn more about the school’s proposed $10.16 million capital project.
A second forum has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in the high school’s Oxford Academy Performing Arts Auditorium.
The two sessions will include a presentation on the project’s scope of work, as well as a question and answer period. Members of the district’s administration and board of education will be on hand, as will consultants from the Bernier Carr Group.
School officials have indicated their willingness to give presentations to community groups. Anyone interested in scheduling such a session should contact the district office at 843-2025, ext. 4040.
The proposed project will go before voters in a referendum on Thursday, November 18. Polls will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. in the Oxford High School. To be eligible to vote, you must be 18 or older, a U.S. citizen and have lived in the district for a minimum of 30 days prior to the vote.
