We’re on the Hunt, Patrollers! Hunting Season is almost upon us yet again and the DVD Patrol has an all new rack of movies just for you. The guy in charge of the Hunting Party, the Toddster is leading us and every choice for this week is brand new. There is even a team-up between the Man of Steel and the World’s Mightiest Mortal. Time to Go!

New on DVD

Scott Pilgrim vs the World - Sometimes, Dating in this day and age can be a risky proposition. Just ask Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). Scott never really had much of a dating life and pretty much rocked with his band. That is until he met Ramona (Elizabeth Winstead). The last thing you want to hear when dating someone new is who they used to date. Scott doesn’t have much of a choice because if you thought hearing about one ex was bad. How about seven of them? Now to prove that he has what it takes to date Ramona, he’ll have to fight all seven of them. Will Scott prove that he’s worthy to the posse of Ramona’s dating scene? Cera has some great DVD choices from the Patrol vaults including “Year One” (with Jack Black), “Nick and Norah’s Playlist,” and ‘Superbad.”

Grownups - You never know what will happen when a bunch of friends get together after being apart for a long period of time. Lenny (Adam Sandler), Kurt (Chris Rock), Marcus (David Spade), Rob (Rob Schneider), and Eric (Kevin James) have all come back together after thirty years. It seems that their old Basketball coach has passed away. The five pals decide to all come back to the old haunt they used to celebrate their biggest win. Thirty years is a long time to be away and each of them has moved on with their lives by having families and different pursuits to make life their own. They do want to prove even if a lot of time has gone by, they haven’t changed all that much. Do our heroes still have that same spark they always had or have they changed too much? Sandler returns with a brand new comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman in “Just Go with It” coming to theaters early next year.

Charlie St. Cloud - Sometimes, distractions are something one needs to help cope with the loss of something. Charlie St Cloud (Zac Efron) is someone who does. While driving with his mother and little brother Sam (Charlie Tahan), they become involved in a car accident that kills Sam. Now Charlie is living with the pain that it was his fault that killed his little brother. Coping with the stress of the situation, Charlie still talks to Sam as if he was still alive. A lot of Charlie’s friends and family think he needs help. He receives a surprise when his old friend Tess (Amanda Crew) returns to town and they start to get together. Could Tess be what Charlie needs to move on with his life and finally put to rest the memory of his little buddy? Efron has some great DVDS out there including “High School Musical 1, 2, and 3,” “Hairspray (With John Travolta), and “17 Again.” 

Lie to Me - TV Spotlight is here as Season 2 comes to DVD shelves. There are a lot of people who lie in the World. It’s Cal Lightman’s (Tim Roth) job to find out who those people are and find the truth. He assists the FBI and other law enforcement interests to shed light on cases that need solving. In the Season 2 opener, a murder case comes to the attention of Lightman and his team. The only problem is the woman in question the killer or a witness? Will Lightman find the truth in time? Season 1 is now stores on DVD and Season 3 can be on Monday nights at 9 PM on Fox.

Superman/Shazam - The Return of Black Adam-Cartoon Spotlight is here as DC Comics has brought together a great collection of shorts with this great team up. Clark Kent has been sent by the Daily Planet to interview Billy Batson who has a great job as the youngest reporter working in Fawcett City. However, Billy has become the target of a super villain named Black Adam. Billy has been chosen by the Wizard Shazam to receive great power and now Black Adam has to take him down before Billy figures out how to use it. Black Adam didn’t count on someone else- Superman. Will Billy figure how to use his new power to help Superman take down Black Adam before it’s too late? Other great shorts on this DVD include are appearances by Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, and the Spectre.

It’s that time to come in and take a break from the hunt. November is shaping up to be a big month for a lot of movie releases but we’ll be keeping you up to date on everything. The Patrol will also include the story of how we got started many years ago (or 5 to be exact) with a walk down memory lane from our editor in chief. (He doesn’t like to be called chief, only Sir).
