Bonney named rookie of the week
Three Hobart College basketball players were honored by the Liberty League today. Junior forward Matt Pebole (Red Bank/Red Bank, N.J.) and sophomore guard Stefan Thompson (CBA/Syracuse, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Team of the Week, while first-year forward Richie Bonney (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.) was tabbed the Co-Rookie of the Week.
Bonney averaged a double-double with 10.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in his first week as a Statesman. He had 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds against Cazenovia and logged 10 points and a game-high 16 boards at Ithaca.
Hobart will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 23, when the Statesmen host Elmira. Tipoff in Bristol Gym is scheduled for 7 p.m.
