Half of Chenango’s voters turned out
NORWICH – An average of 50 percent of Chenango County’s registered voters came to the polls this month, according to numbers released Friday by elections commissioners.
“The turnout was better than it has been in a while, especially for a non-presidential year. All of the towns seemed to come out to vote,” said Republican Commissioner Harriet Jenkins.
The Board of Elections reported 28,481 registered voters; 14,307 voted on Nov. 2.
