No one injured in Tuesday vehicle fire in Oxford

OXFORD – A man hauling cattle had his truck suddenly burst into flames after stopping at a stop sign in the Town of Oxford Tuesday.

At around 10:30 a.m., the Oxford Fire Department responded to Wackford Road at the intersection of County Rt. 35 after a pick-up’s engine burst into flames.

The Oxford Police said the truck’s 78-year-old driver, Martin Rowe, got out of his vehicle at the intersection after noticing a small amount of smoke coming from his hood.
