Morrisville State College Norwich Campus Instant Admit Day

NORWICH – With the spring semester set to begin Jan. 18, the Morrisville State College Norwich Campus will hold its annual Instant Admit Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Roger W. Follett Hall, 20 Conkey Ave., adjacent to the Eaton Center.
Time is running out for those wishing to apply for spring admissions, according to Norwich Campus Dean Marsha Cornelius, who said the local college’s Instant Admit Day is specifically designed to provide prospective students with one last opportunity to do so.
In order to be considered for admission, interested individuals should bring an official high school transcript or GED diploma with scores, a copy of a college or military transcript, if applicable, a copy of their 2009 tax returns and immunization records. There is also a $50 application fee, which may be waived if the applicant meets specific income guidelines.
Those participating in the yearly event will meet with an admissions counselor, a financial aid advisor and academic advisor, who will assist with the admissions, financial aid and class selection processes respectively.
“We offer a number of courses to assist individuals who are looking to improve skills related to their current employment, seeking a promotion or for those changing careers due to the loss of a job in such areas as accounting, business, computer technology, early childhood, human services and office technology,” stated Cornelius. “For those individuals who have, or are working toward, an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, we are now offering 300 and 400 level course work in that area.”
Cornelius said individuals currently working in the field of criminal justice may also be eligible to participate in this advanced coursework and additional courses offered in the upcoming spring semester will include Interviewing Techniques in Criminal Justice, White Collar Crime and Arson and Bomb Investigations.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for potential students to meet with our admissions, financial aid and academic personnel all in the same day,” added Cornelius. “We’re looking forward to a successful spring semester and we’re always hoping to see some new faces.”
Those accepted for the 2011 spring semester should be prepared to attend student orientation on Jan. 12 at the Norwich Campus.
