Police asking for tips in city hit and run
NORWICH – The Norwich City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in trying to identify a hit and run driver who was involved in an accident Monday.
Police said a man in a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, with a push guard mounted in the front of it, collided with another vehicle at about 7:45 p.m. Monday at the intersection of East Main and Silver streets.
Police said the pick-up struck the side of the victim’s vehicle in a T-bone crash and then drove away. Police also said the victim attempted to follow the fleeing truck, but was forced to stop as it sped away at dangerous speeds.
The truck was last seen traveling south on County Rt. 32 in the Town of Norwich. Officers said it should have fresh damage to the front of the vehicle.
